The people we love.
The person we used to be.
The lessons hidden inside difficult seasons.
The person we're still becoming.
Because sometimes changing your life doesn't begin with doing more.
We spend much of our lives looking ahead.
The next goal.The next problem.
The next obligation.
The next place we're trying to get to.
And while we're looking ahead, some of the most meaningful parts of life can quietly pass beside us.
Notice More is about paying attention.
To the people sitting across from us.
To what our experiences are teaching us.
To the person we have become.
To the beauty hidden inside ordinary moments.
And sometimes, to things we've carried for years without realizing we're still carrying them.
I don't believe we need to escape our lives to find meaning.
I think we need to notice the life we're already living.
I often begin with something I've noticed—a conversation, a photograph, a memory, a person, a mistake, a walk, a difficult season, or something completely ordinary.
Then I ask myself:
Those observations become the stories and reflections I share through Notice More.
Some of the most meaningful things I've written began with someone else asking me to notice something.
Peace.
Growing older.
Starting over.
Relationships.
Fear.
Purpose.
Something they were struggling to understand in their own life.
So I started asking:
What would you like me to notice?
You give me the subject.
I spend some time with it.
And occasionally, what I notice becomes my next reflection.
BOOKS
My Facebook series are beginning to become something larger.
Instead of allowing a series to disappear into an old Facebook feed when it ends, I am beginning to turn these explorations into books.
The books allow us to take the same journey more slowly and explore the ideas more deeply.
ABOUT DENNIS
I'm writing it because I've lived long enough to realize how much of my life I didn't fully appreciate while it was happening.
I've been poor.
I've been a Marine.
I've been a husband, father, grandfather, heavy-equipment operator, real estate broker, businessman, investor, writer, and traveler
.I've succeeded at things.
I've failed at things.
I've started over more than once.
About Dennis
Thousands of people are already joining these conversations on Facebook.
Read the latest reflections, share your perspective, and tell me what you've noticed.
Occasionally, I'll send you a new reflection, something I've noticed, or something worth thinking about.
No noise.
No daily barrage of emails.
